SOME TECHNIQUES YOU WILL LEARN….

  • Dry Brush

    This acrylic technique allows you to create striking, textured effects with minimal paint - perfect for expressive, dynamic strokes.

  • Wet on Wet

    This acrylic technique lets you apply wet paint onto a wet surface, blending colours seamlessly to create smooth and fluid effects.

  • Stippling

    Stippling

    An acrylic technique that uses lots of small dots to build texture and depth. A great way to add deatil and texture to your work.

  • Etching

    This acrylic technique involves scratching or carving into a painted surface to create intricate textures and detailed patterns.

  • Splattering

    This paintining method involves flicking or spraying paint to create spontaneous, energetic patterns and textures.

  • Overlapping

    Using the overlapping collage technique, you'll add depth, complexity, and a sense of movement to your artwork.

Workshop Objectives.

  • Apply acrylic techniques including dry brush, wet-in-wet, stippling, etching, & splattering to create various coloured shapes.

  • Apply paper collage techniques including overlapping & tearing to create an A1 sized collage (using self-made identify shapes).

  • Distinguish between geometric and organic shapes.

  • Understand colour theory basics & the emotive value of different colour hues.

  • Use shape & colour to explore and express your personality.

  • Just bring yourself, an open mind!, and a willingness to create! All the materials you'll need are provided, including information booklets to take home when you leave. Of course, if you have any favourite tools or supplies you'd like to use, feel free to bring those along too :)

  • No prior experience is necessary! Hayley's workshops are designed to be accessible for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced artists. Everyone is welcome and Hayley is well-skilled in teaching students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.

  • Workshop durations can vary, but they typically range from a 2-4 hours to a half day. Please contact Hayley to discuss a length that works for you!

  • Hayley's workshops often include a mix of demonstrations, hands-on practice, and individual guidance. You’ll have opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback.
