During the summer of 2023, Hayley participated in The City of Melbourne’s SIGNAL Summer program to create a large-scale textile installation inspired by the mysterious and intricate network of fungal threads that grow beneath mushroom heads. Under the mentorship of Angela Ro and David Creed, two professional Melbourne-based artists, she worked alongside other young and emerging artists to bring this installation to life. After the exhibition night, the installation was moved to Library at The Dock, where it remained as a window display for several months.

SIGNAL Summer is a series of intensive creative arts workshops for young people that happens in January each year. The program offers young people​ the chance to work alongside professional artists, develop skills across a wide range of art forms and create new work. ​​
