GC MAGIC August Group Show | Mixed Media & Acrylic Painting - 2024

Hayley Stanich's "Childhood Magic" is a vibrant rebellion against the mundane confines of adulthood. Through her colourful and expressive abstract style, she captures the essence of playful spontaneity, inviting viewers to rekindle their youthful exuberance. These paintings serve as portals to a realm of uninhibited creativity and carefree exploration, where childhood imagination reigns supreme.

Hayley's replacement of colourful child storybook pages with black and white newspaper articles in her frames symbolises how adult responsibilities often stifle creativity. Her work urges viewers to break free from the rational adult mind, think outside of the box, and rediscover their innate creativity. To aid this creative awakening, each paint colour is imbued with herb powers, aiming to reconnect viewers with their inner child and sense of wonder. The artwork is complimented by living plants and herb jars which correspond to these botanical powers. Immerse yourself in Hayley’s artwork and let its sensory experience inspire you to unleash your creativity and rediscover the magic of childhood.

Hayley exhibited this painting as part the the Gold Coast Multicultural Association’s (GC MAGIC) 2024 Mixed Media group show. Her work was on display at the Robina Community Art Gallery from August - September 2024.
